The inspiration:
Vikings were seafaring people from Scandinavia from the 8th - 11th centuries and they were known for being expert sailors and navigators and they raided, traded and even settle throughout parts of Europe. Vikings traveled as far as the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Middle East and North America.
They used ships called Longships, and they vary in size, construction details and prestige. They used those ship for commerce, exploration and warfare during the Viking Age.
