Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus is a Horror Gothic novel writen between 1816-17 by Mary Shelley when she was only 19 years old. 
Frankenstein is considered a Gothic novel with elements of the Romantic Movement but some argue that it is the first true science fiction story. It has influenced literature and pop culture and today Frankenstein has become a Classical of Horror and has spawned movies, TV shows and several editions of the Book.
The 1931 movie, has become a classical of the Horror Genre and it is one of my favorites. Boris Karloff eternelized Frankenstein in the silver screen. He is considered along with Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney and Vincent Price the true icons of Horror Cinema.
